Instructions
Add 1 teaspoon (approx. 4 grams) of powder to your food, shake or smoothie
Ingredients
100% seaweed: Irish moss/carrageenan (Chondrus crispus)* *of organic origin
Origin: Ireland
Did you know? that you can also use Irish sea moss as a binding agent for soups and sauces or pies, but also, in gel form, as a face mask to hydrate the skin?
Recipe: Making gel from sea moss powder.
The powder is ready for use.
# Take 25 grams of sea moss powder and put it in a pan.
# Add 500 ml of water and soak for 30 minutes.
# Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
# Blend the whole thing until a smooth gel is formed.
# For an extra vitamin boost, taste and aroma, you can add lemon juice/orange juice while blending.
# Put it in a sealable jar and let it cool and put it in the refrigerator. It will then thicken a little more.
Keep in mind that if you add moisture from something else, you use less water.
If you want a thicker gel, use more seaweed or less water.
Tip: you can also make gel with other types of sea moss (including Mastocarpus stellatus).
